Guacamole (gwa-ka-moli) is a dip made from avocados and is native to Mexico. Mexicans are widely known for their love of food and rich cuisine. Guacamole promises to delight your taste buds in ways you can only but imagine. If you’ve never sampled some guac, then you’re in for a delicious treat my friend. If you’re no stranger to this amazing dip, you’ll love the ease of preparation. Enough gassing you up, let’s get to it!

Ingredients:

-1 red/white onion finely chopped

-1 tomato diced

-4 cloves of garlic

-1 avocado (add the quantity depending on the number of people you are serving)

- A pinch of black pepper

-1 tbsp. of lemon juice

-Chopped coriander

-Salt and chopped chili pepper to taste

Preparation:

Cut your avocado and scoop out the flesh. Place in a bowl and mash, but be careful not to overdo it. This process will be smooth only if you use strictly ripe avocados. The guacamole should be chunky.

Once you’re done, add all the other ingredients and save the tomatoes for last.

Remember that red peppers vary in taste so add them to the guacamole to your desired degree of hotness. The acid in the juice of limes/lemons provides a balance to the richness of the avocado and will help in delaying the avocado from browning.

You can serve your guacamole immediately or refrigerate if you’re saving it for later. Guac is perfect for a night in with friends, a snack while watching the game or as a starter.

 

It’s incredible how versatile this dip is. You can serve it on a bed of lettuce, on a burger with fries, as a salad dressing, along with fish, on a sandwich, etc.
